Natural Gas/Shale Litigation

Lewis Gianola is routinely involved in high-profile litigation on behalf of oil and natural gas clients, particularly those involving title issues, mineral rights or surface owner matters.  The firm has provided representation in litigation involving class-action royalty disputes, other lease issues, contractual claims, surface owner lawsuits, and claims of environmental and property damage.  Lewis Gianola also has provided counsel in arbitrations and has served as arbitrators in complex leases, acquisition disputes and mineral development agreements, such as JOAs.
 
Regarding pipeline litigation, Lewis Gianola’s experience includes: injunctions for survey access, large scale negotiations and mediations with landowners and municipalities, battles with coal companies regarding natural gas pipelines and wells, obtaining equitable relief for immediate possession and construction of a FERC certificated natural gas pipeline project, and multiple trials to determine compensation for landowners impacted by a natural gas transmission pipeline.
